Another Successful Petersen Workshop

Thank you to the Petersen Museum for another successful summer class workshop. Acceler8 Program worked together with the LAPD CSP Unit (community safety partnership), as well as Youth Empowerment Program through the Tarzana Treatment Center, to reach out and connect with the youth throughout Los Angeles County. We were able to provide classes for up to 25 students and introduce them to “The Vault” at the Petersen Museum. Most of these students have never set foot in the museum, let alone have access to the VIP section of the facility, where vehicles such as the Pope Mobile and Gypsy Rose were being stored to complete maintenance on these one-of-a-kind motor vehicles.

We held instructional classes, collaborating with some of the top brands such as Pedal Commander, Lucas Oil, Anderson Composites, Braum Racing, ID Agency and Slime. These sponsors were able to provide the Acceler8 classes with products/gear to teach our students about the intricate details of racing and the automotive industry. It opened their eyes to more possibilities and a wide range of opportunities to work within the automotive field.

Our students were given a tour of the Petersen Museum where they were able to check out the F1 exhibit, the James Hetfield collection, and enjoyed some time using the FORZA racing simulators.

The Acceler8 students were given the opportunity to meet special guests such as two-time Olympian, Dr. Mark Crear, actor, Joseph Gatt, and CEO of Heritage Gruppe, Geghard Ohanian. They met and spoke with the students about their path, including hardships and struggles that they endured and overcame to strive towards their goals, ultimately becoming well established and successful in their fields.

Acceler8 wants to give a big thank you to Pelican, for providing the tactical flashlights to give out to our students, as well as Anderson Composites and Slime, for the awesome swag bags.

Thank you again to the Petersen Museum, with a special thank you to Jason Hartwig for providing us with this memorable opportunity to hold classes at this unbelievable facility. We look forward to future classes and can’t wait to bring more students on board to enjoy these special opportunities.
