Acceler8 Team Meets Youth in Atlanta During Round 2 of Formula Drift

It was another successful trip at Formula Drift Atlanta for the Acceler8 Team. We were able to meet up with the Automotive Training Institute, and the @Promise Youth Program, for the second year in a row, and it was another amazing experience for the books! Students were greeted with swag bags from Acceler8 that included gear from Slime, Rainex, as well as a Leen Custom Pin. We got to visit one of the newest drift driver’s, Josh Love, and his team. The students were given a behind the scenes look at Love’s drift car and the work it takes to keep a car like that running and operating at its best. It’s that first revving of the engine that got the student’s ultimate attention, with smiles and amazement of how powerful an engine can really sound. The students made their way to the FalKen Tire tent, where they were given a presentation of how their tires are made, designed and how they receive information from the drivers team about the pros and cons of the performance of their tires, so that they can keep improving the performance of their products. The students were able to participate in the autograph session with the drift racers, as well as walk around the venue and visit some of the popular vendors connected to drift racing, while collecting more swag gear. The evening ended with a special trip on the track. The students were escorted to a location where they had an up close and personal view of drifting at its finest.

Team Visits @Promise Program

Before the busy weekend started at ‘Road to Atlanta’- Formula Drift, the team met up with staff from the @promise program in downtown Atlanta. @Promise Program is a youth program, supported by the Atlanta Police Foundation, where youth between the ages of 12 to 24 years, can go to develop a more positive outlook on life and their future endeavors. @Promise works with youth that are given a chance to overcome the issues they face within their own homes, communities, and at schools. They offer assistance in mental health, education, recreation, and workforce development. We were very inspired by the facility they have built, the connections they’ve grown within the communities throughout Atlanta, and the over all support from large companies, surrounding communities, and the Atlanta Police Department. We look forward to the continued partnership with @Promise, and can’t wait for the next visit!

Acceler8 Activation Team

From the unpredictable weather to the southern hospitality, Atlanta never disappoints. Just when we thought the rain would be a damper on the event, within an hour, the clouds cleared and the sun shined the rest of the day, for everyone to enjoy another successful drift scene. We enjoyed meeting some of the best fans of Formula Drift, and having a community favorite, “Sideways Sheriff” (from the t.v. show: Getaway Driver), in our booth for the second year was a plus. We look forward to celebrating the 20th year anniversary of Formula Drift in 2023, in the place where drifting was born, Atlanta, GA.
